Peter Cooper: A Veteran Leader in Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity professionals play an integral role in maintaining the fabric of the fragile digital landscape. People like Peter Cooper – Broadcom Commercial & Enterprise Markets and Managed Partners Europe leader from February 2021 to April 2025 – help to redefine technological safety, drive sector growth and accelerate innovative systems that consistently improve data security.

Mr Cooper has operated at a senior level in many large cybersecurity companies, focussing on internet security, AI integration and building channels in EMEA. With 25 years of experience in the field, he has demonstrated his innate ability to lead projects and incite change.

Early Career

He is now best known for his work with cybersecurity companies such as Broadcom and Symantec, but it was Peter Cooper’s early career that opened those doors for him. Between 1994 and 1998, he worked as managing director and divisional general manager at Reflex, establishing early executive leadership experience; he later went on to manage SME sales at Computer 2000, developing knowledge of channel distribution mechanics that would inform his future work.

Transition to Full-Fledged Cybersecurity Roles

Across 25 exciting years, Mr Cooper has had an impressive and varied career in cybersecurity, applying his early operational knowledge and professional skillset to important leadership roles.

Following successful roles at CA Technologies, Kaspersky and McAfee, he made several big contributions to the cybersecurity field, building long-term global partnerships and developing high-tech network security solutions.

Partner Leadership

However, it was his influence as long-running EMEA partner leader at Broadcom and Symantec that made Mr Cooper a well-known name in British cybersecurity. He left his position as head of corporate and commercial markets earlier in 2025 but left a huge mark on the company thanks to his incredible work on the Aggregation Model for the Enterprise Security Group.

Knowledge and Influence

Peter Cooper’s knowledge of cybersecurity is informed by decades of work and education. Symantec, which promises innovative, data-centric security solutions for global organisations, benefitted greatly from leaders like Mr Cooper, who overhauled strategies and developed groundbreaking initiatives that helped shape pivotal strategies.

The Symantec Aggregation Program is one of Broadcom’s most innovative initiatives ever, and Mr Cooper was able to develop it to transform the prior process into something new that generated great profits. It is this level of expertise that helped his career go from strength to strength, encouraging his visionary thinking and extended his influence over the industry.

Now working for Island – The Enterprise Browser, he hopes to continue his cybersecurity journey by helping to redefine security and user experience in browser technology. His proven record for innovation, leadership and cybersecurity strategy will ensure he remains a key player in the future of digital security.
